Língua portuguesa e formação universitária: a importância do domínio do português na formação profissional

Abstract

The research aimed to expose factors that gave rise of the deficiencies in relation of the domain of the written of the Portuguese language. It analyzes how Portuguese is worked in undergraduate courses, as well as highlighting the contributions that the teaching of the Portuguese language added in the formation of graduating as a professional and citizen. The results were obtained by means of literature in books and especially in current publications are available in electronic media, especially in relation to query performance indicators that reveal the current way of basic and higher education in Brazil. A considerable number of young Brazilians, leaves the basic education without minimal skills necessary for reading, writing and interpretation, and still enter in the higher education. The period for entry into the university is very critical, mainly because a new relationship with knowledge needs to be built. In this new mode of education, the students perceive serious difficulties in academic life, because they doesn´t domain basic skills in Portuguese. Some higher education institutions have developed projects with private tuition to help students with educational deficits, but these initiatives do not guarantee effective recovery by student. In sum, this research was given emphasis on the importance of the Portuguese language in vocational training, since proficiency in written Portuguese can be considered the starting point for a professional and academic success.
