Ser mulher boliviana na cidade de São Paulo: um alinhavo psicanalítico

Abstract

This research aimed to understand the experiences of Bolivian migrant women in the city of São Paulo, using psychoanalysis as a theoretical framework. It was based on the hypothesis that migration is a complex condition, intertwining social, political, economic and subjective aspects, especially when observed from a gender perspective. Initially, the Bolivian migration in São Paulo was historically contextualized, addressing its particularities, followed by a psychoanalytic bibliographic review on the concepts of cleavage and femininity, as well as their reverberations in migration. Qualitative research was conducted through an interview with a Bolivian woman who migrated to Brazil at the beginning of the twentieth century. The data were analyzed from the articulations of the bibliographic review and supported by the contributions of the post-structuralist literary critic, Gayatri Spivak, on the place of the subaltern in society, in particular, of women. In the end, the results broadened the debate on the subjective experiences of migrant Bolivian women, considering psychoanalytic listening as a place of testimony of the ambiguities experienced between being in a new country as "other" that cannot define itself while losing its identifications with the country of origin, the mark of the cleavage that prevents migrant women from authorizing themselves in the face of trauma, Feeling the duty to solve transgenerational pains, with regard to their feminine constitution, the neoliberal market and colonial remnants still enclose women in the myth of the family. This study offered an interpretation of reality that can be expanded by other fields of knowledge, suggesting the importance of multiple and diverse understandings for the subjective constitution of these women.
